The Clueless Bride

October 7, 2008
This was my second try on this painting of what was supposed to be "The Bean" in Chicago. The first one ended up being the Flying Spaghetti Monster instead. So I tried to keep it a bean today, but it became a big eyeball. My paintings just won't behave themselves! I'm starting to realize that my Twilight Zone streak just wants to voice itself so I try to oblige it now and then. 16" x 20" oil on canvas.

Thank you, Dominique :) I had so much fun with this one! Yours is very nice, too -- I can't wait to see the next photo for this week!

you're hilarious! The incarnation of Ed "Big Daddy" Roth one of my art heros as a kid.

I'll have to google him, never heard of him! But I like him already; if he's your hero he must really be sumthin!

Camille, I love the Big Eyeball! Your colors are also Very Nice. Poor little bride... in my version I kept thinking that she was about to be consumed by a giant blob of mercury... if you have the Flying Spaghetti Monster still, you should post a photo of that one too!

Alice, I love your Sacred Pond by the way, and your bean really does look like a big ball of mercury! It has that metallic look, great job on that! This was a hard assignment if you ask me. And I thought about posting the spaghetti monster but it's not really ready for primetime. Thanks for your kind words!
