Camille, I've always loved the dark outline style of painting. (Gauguin?) This is an awesome painting of a beautiful dog. I'll email you one of a golden lab I did in a similar style.
Camille, I really enjoy how you create your shapes with a red outline, and the interior spaces are so interesting in the color use and brushwork. I also really like your portrait of Mary, it has the look of modern take on a renaissance woman.
Is this what is considered coloring between the lines ? =) Wish I could paint like that. I just love this outline you gave him. There's such beautiful life movements in your paintings. Thanks for stopping by my blog.
Hi Camille. I am dropping in from Edward's blog and I'm so glad I did. This is such a happy painting, everything about this sings of the personality of golden retrievers! What size is this painting of Rio?
Camille! LOVE the bold outlines, colors and heavy strokes- bing, bang, boom :>) By the way- I cant wait to see what you "rock the lineup" with over on DSFDF! -T
Hi Camille. And I'm dropping in from Tom Pohlman's blog and so glad I did. This blog hopping is getting addictive...there is so much great talent around. Zach is super, And I like Rio...Grand! I'm seeing so many neat pet portraits that I may have to try it myself. Wonder how many people have pet frogs? Hope you'll drop by Windows to the Words and join in.
Good morning, Thanks for visiting my Blog and the nice comment. Tell Zach I love him.....Great piece.Superb work! I have been using Refined linseed oil by Gamblin.I hope this info helps. Happy painting!
eep! I've let several days go by without acknowledging these wonderful comments, so sorry to be "en retard" as they say in gay Paree. Of course, there are those who would say that second word describes me well; excuse the non-political correctness...
Vern - Gaughin has always rocked my world and I aspire to use his palette and brushstrokes.
Maryanne, I often paint from photos and my camera actually does show shadows as red even though we all know shadows are supposed to be cool colors. But, I don't like rules very much, lol. Oppositional disorder most likely.
Dominique - If I could draw the way you do I would. But I can't, so I paint like a 7 year old, it's much easier!
Maggie - I have seen such beautiful bold colors this week that I want to try and get back to more of that. Thanks.
Mary - you know I love your colors and you're part of my inspiration!
Connie - we'll probably be painting our dogs well into our old(er) age, don'tcha bet? I hope so.
Edward - I'll thank you again even though I did on your blog. I bow down to you and am honored.
Angela, welcome and I'm happy I captured golden retrieverism for you. They're one of my favorite breeds (very hairy though! haha) How well I remember having hair EVerywhere:) This is an 8 x 8 canvas.
Tom, glad you like the bing bang boom, lol. And don't expect me to live up to what you did, although you TOtally jacked the feeling I would have wanted to go for. What I submit may still go for that vibe, or else a pen and ink drawing, just for a change-up. I have both in the works -- will see!
James, you character you, I do know someone who has a pet frog as a matter of fact. And I hope you will do a painting of Taco Bell and her friend (your co-judges, lol). If they won't sit still then just take a picture :)
Irit - I'll tell Zach you love him! He will be so happy! But you'll have to get in line because he has *quite* the following of females. He names the girls in his cellphone after the bars he meets them in. The other day he was saying he thinks he'll call Laura Emo's instead of Laura Continental Club. That's how he got that trick, trying to tell the Lauras apart. So I guess you can be Irit Camille's!
Y'all (yes, I say y'all), thank you so much for your generous and kind comments and just for checking in here. See you around blogland! If any of you are on Facebook, gimme a shout-out.
If I was younger....Old enough to me his Mom.He is SOOOO cute.I love how he labeled the girls. creative like Momma ha? You always make my day I am LOL again.

Mom I LOVE this one... you captured his joy perfectly and I absolutely love the dark pink outline next to the green background!
Madeline
Your love and appreciation for him shows...I love the "wrong" colors!
Madeline, I'm so happy you like it. Besides, he's your dog and you paid $25 cash for him with your own money!
Paula, glad you like those wrong colors. Next time they might be purple or lavender if I feel like it! :) Cause that's the way I roll.
Camille You ROCK! I know Rio is wagging his tail so hard it's slapping his angel wings. HUGS!
Sheila, you're not supposed to make the artist cry! But I got tears of happiness from what you said, and I thank you. You're a doll.

I love it too. The color choices are perfect.
I'm totally mesmerized by the brushwork and colors along his color line. I know, I'm weird, haha!
Miss you, Rio!
WONDERFUL portrait of Rio, Camille! Beautiful bold brushwork and colors. Really great job.
