I love your portrait of Casey, Camille. Great composition, patterns and colors. I really like the heart on her collar too. Well done!

Thank you, Edward. She really had that heart collar, I was glad she did! And thanks for becoming one of my official blog followers. I finally found how to put that on here.

What a cute puppy! And a wonderful painting. And mom, you know you can edit entries, you don't have to delete them and start over!

Hello Camille - The minute I saw this I remembered your painting of Rio! I love seeing this from the "people's" perspective. I think Casey is waiting for a treat! And, the blue works beautifully.

Austin is not too far from Dallas -- maybe one day we could arrange a painting day...

Thanks, Madeline -- you can give me the lesson next time you're home:)

Angela, that's a great idea. I see the California people doing that and it looks fun. I'm going to start easing in some plein air painting soon. Eventually maybe we could meet halfway (Waco? Salado?) and paint a river's edge or something. So glad you like my rendering of Casey. I like his scruffiness :) And he DEFinitely wants SOMEthing and I bet it IS a treat! haha

Blue Dog looks very pleased with herself, like she fooled them all. Nice work.

Wow. I LOVE this. Why are so many cool artists from Austin? I'm going to have to get myself there! I like your dogs, I like that you blog about your process. I'll definitely be back. Bookmarking you...

Bruce, are you looking for meanings that aren't really there? I would *never* do that to your paintings!!! (WINK WINK)

Amy, I'm so happy to see you commenting :)

Kelley, I've been to your blog a jillion times, I'm extremely happy to see you here and that my doggies appealed to you. Yay! I really think I'm hooked on doing animal paintings. In my mind I had aspired to be too cool for that (HA!!), (I blame my Art History studies) but my heart just loves the critters, that's all there is to it. Coolness be damned. (I've never been cool anyway, why try to start now?!) Again, thanks, Kelley!

Hi - I just discovered your blog, and I love your work. How depressing to find another dog with the same first name as me, though - the whole time I was growing up it seemed that only dogs shared my name. You've done an awesome job on her portrait though, and at least she's a Democrat!
