Horses Playing

February 12, 2009
I'm going to paint some horses that a friend of mine considers family. This is a preliminary sketch from a photo of two young males, Squall and Pickle, who like to play.

Looks Ok from here, but I'll tell ya, that poltergeist is here in Kansas, too. I am getting real unexpected warnings in my browser...too weird. I can't wait to see your brushwork on these horses! Paint on!

I appreciate the vote of confidence, Ms. Pattie! I'm excited about starting the painting part. :D
I will cross my fingers for our blogs to get back on track!

Can't wait to see what evolves from this drawing...great start!
I have been having blogger issues as well, sigh.

My poltergeist was on Facebook today, so I feel your pain. Mozilla did some updates today and I blame that.
Your horses have so much energy and look...happy! Good jaorb. All I did this afternoon was go to the grocery store and now I need copious amounts of wine to wash away the trauma. j/k. At least I had a cute check out boy with a very nice smile.

Hey Camille, I love this drawing, including the haughty, playful attitude of the horse on the right. Can't wait to see the painting!

Great start on the horses, Camille!

Your blog looks A-OK from my computer.

I've been having a similar issue with my Wordpress blog. It looks fine in Safari and Firefox, and on my sons' Internet Explorer, but NOT my husband's Internet Explorer. I'm *this close* to switching to Blogger, and now I hear you're having troubles with it! Goodness gracious — what is a blogger to do?!? LOL!

Aaaack! Dana, Connie, Paula and Christine, I just answered each of you personally and it disappeared! :(

So I'm just going to say thanks (again) and I hope to start painting this tomorrow. I sure do appreciate your feedback, friends!

Camille,

Thank you. I had forgotten about the thing Hemmingway did about quitting when you know what comes next. I remember reading this. Something he wrote in Key West. Right? what was the book? Very literal of you. Finish the horses.

Rick, it's on page 25 of my really old paperback of A Moveable Feast that I bought at Shakespeare & Co. in Paris for 13 francs 50 in 1977. And it's on page 26 of my newer copy. He said to never empty the well, there should still be something there in the deep part of the well so it can refill at night from the springs that feed it. I always liked that idea, but can't seem to remember to follow it!
