Grapefruit

Today I wanted to try a new painting place in my house since my studio is feeling uninspiring to me. The light in one bathroom is really bright with big white counter space. I kind of liked it :) So I just did this little setup of three grapefruit (which sat at such a nice height on the bathroom shelf). It's a mostly white bathroom and I have a feeling I may end up painting my studio all white and working on the lighting. I need as few visual distractions as possible when I'm awaiting "the Muse." The main thing is that I'm just trying to get in the swing again so this was what the doctor ordered... a little warm-up, back to oil painting today. Busy weekend ahead and then Monday I'll see about working on my umbrella girls portrait. The next day, Madeline (little umbrella girl) comes home from 7 weeks in Paris! woohoo! I cannot wait! 8 x 10 oil Private Collection.

stunning color, visceral music worthy of grapefruit, the queen of fruits! Hope you love Cezanne as I do, reminds me...

Love this, Camille. That vivid orange is so beautiful next to the bright, clear blues. The patterns of yellow and turquoise add delicious interest. I'd say your Muse showed up for you in a big way!

Glad to see that you've found a new trigger to fire that creative gun of yours. This is beautiful impressionism, and I really love those delicious reflections.

Bruce and Vern, two of my most favorite living painter-men in the world, I thank you most sincerely. Yes, back to the oils for sure!

Good work, Camille! This deserves a Brush Award. Come and get it on my blog, but don't feel obliged.
Greetings!

I love the play between orange and its complimentary blue. Makes my eyes very happy.

White sounds like a good idea for your studio. One night, I was wearing a pink tank top and found that it was reflecting onto my canvas, so whatever you can do to have good, pure light in your space is a good thing.

I'm sorry I didn't see this until now. I need to check out blogs more often and see what people are up to!

Love,
Connie

Caio Fernandes and Connie, I do think the white studio will happen. Glad you both like my grapefruit. I was wanting to hurry and finish them so I could pop one in my mouth which I of course promptly did afterward! (I peeled it first)
