Harley and Freelee

13 x 17 oil on board
There's a health movement out there that is centered on fruitarianism.  That is, people who eat a diet of almost all raw fruit, with fruit, salad and greens at night.  I've been experimenting with following this lifestyle the last six months and I feel good and have lost weight. There are people on YouTube who make videos touting this way of living and these are two of them:  Durianrider (Harley Johnstone) and Freelee the Banana Girl. They're shown here at the Woodstock Fruit Festival which was all last week in New York. I'm thinking of doing a series of portraits of other gurus in the raw vegan movement. Not sure what I'll do with them but I'm trying to tie in my painting with other important interests in my life, and health is sure one of them :-)

Hi Nancy! Yeah everything is great I was just spending wayyyy too much time on FB and couldn't seem to stop myself, so...CHOP! Had to cut it out of my life. I do reserve the right to go back and just have an art page maybe. Thanks for stopping by and I miss you too! I'm off to go see your site, glad you like this painting! :)

Thanks so much, Maryanne! Great to hear from you. You know your brushwork and color have always inspired me greatly so I tip my hat to you for that. And thanks for letting me know you like this, yay!

Beautiful bold colours and strokes here Camille. Great portrait.

There sure are a lot of interesting ideas on diet and well being out there now...thank you www. I started eating fruit first thing every morning...don't know if it has made any difference, but it sure tastes good. Rose is now on a fast and feast regime with the fast day allowing for 450 calories. She loves it, and feels great. I think a lot of people just generally eat too much these days.

Thank you, Vern! And I agree that fruit in the morning sure is a wonderful way to start out the day, especially a watery kind like watermelon. Rose's regimen sounds interesting and cutting back some days is proven to give the digestive tract a rest. I just did a 15 day water-only fast and am now back to mostly raw fruit, juices and smoothies and I've never felt better in my life - it defragged and rebooted my whole system.
Thanks again for your kind comment, Vern:)

I am in awe - I could not go that long without food - you have the will power of granite! I love this painting - they look so friendly and healthy. Your ideas are refreshing. I, too, miss you on FB, but it is a time zapper and so much of a facade for daily living. I am trying to go there less, cut down my friends list by half and am having a go at dumping red meat and gluten from my daily...that is a start.

Aw, you're nice, Pattie and so good to hear from you! I do miss you and so many people on FB. I tried reducing my friend list but then you run into people and they think you hate them or something... I felt like I couldn't win! As far as the food thing, I'm always happy to hear people want to try leaving off meat. You get used to it in a surprisingly short period of time. I know you can do it! Thank you again for commenting and I'll see you around the internet parts! :D
