This man reminds me a little of a Giotto madonna with his big strapping thighs sitting comfortably apart. I was just out running and thinking about this one, and wondered, is he way over to the side because he's hoping/waiting for someone to sit down with him? He sure has a lot of sumthin' in that sack, maybe lunch for two? I noticed he's looking at the movie section, last page - interesting. He kind of reminds me of Raymond Burr, the way he looked in Rear Window. http://www.imdb.com/media/rm1737660416/ch0030606 . Maybe this is Lars Thorwald after the wife's murder, and now he's in the park planning a nice evening at the movies.

Very nice, he is so relaxed and the colors are just right.
Thanks, Bruce. I wanted him to look large and in charge. In person the darker values look darker -- I took this in the sun and it paled them out.
I like yours painting of newspaper man and especially your thoughts and imagination of what he may be planning or doing. That's Cool!
Thanks, Maggie! Speculating and ruminating have always been habits with me, but when I run I really get carried away with it, haha. But I admit I didn't think of any of the Rear Window aspects until after it was all finished. The original man in the photo was much thinner and didn't remind me of Raymond Burr. :) Thanks for stopping by!
I think you did a great job with this. Thank you for leaving a comment on my newspaper reading guy. Isn't this fun?
Hi Camille!
Lovely painting - and he IS Thorwald! Is it just me or do your paintings look like they are taking a new-ish direction? The beach piece is so nice too.
Seeing the owl in the tree reminds me that we talked about bird songs once before. I don't believe I remembered to send you this link:

Thanks Mary! And hi Jessica, long time no talkie :) I love that website, and I was just thinking of Vivaldi today and there was the Vivaldi Goldfinch on the front page -- kinda spooky.
My style is always in flux lately especially since I switched to oil paint and I'm learning the ropes with it. Also, 3 of the 4 paintings posted here so far are done from photos from the Karin Jurick website at the bottom of the page here, and that seems to be tapping into a different creative corner of my brain I guess. I'm enjoying feeling like I'm stretching and pushing. As in "Keep Pushing... Always," right? :)
This is my favorite and I think really locks down Camilles style.
