Beach House

September 9, 2008
I've been working on this (16" x 20" oil on canvas) for the last couple of days. I passed it on my walk to the beach in Port Aransas -- a new one with no occupants yet. I didn't do any drawing beforehand as an experiment -- not sure that's a good idea with a house. Hawthorne says don't draw, just paint! Maybe he means except on houses. 16" x 20", oil on canvas.

Now that you're painting houses, should I pass your name onto Vicki? ;-) Funny how the word "commission" still makes me clench up inside.
That house is a beauty and full of interesting lines, and like Renee, I am in love with the palm trees! The whole painting is a pleasure to look at.

Ha! Different strokes from different folks has a house in this week's picture!

I like the house you posted. It looks cool and peaceful.
