Girl With Death-Ray Vision

November 15, 2008
I had some loose fun with this one. In Karin's photo the girl had shadows in front of her face that made it look like she was putting out death rays as she walked along. I played with the colors and shapes, trying to add more interest and loosen up the boxy structure of the lines I had to work with. Every once in a while I like to go more abstract, and this was one of those times. 8" x 10", oil on canvas. http://www.differentstrokesfromdifferentfolks.blogspot.com/

LOL! I noticed the shadows but not the rays of light. Are you still playing with it, because you haven't posted it to her site yet.

She just hasn't posted it yet. I guess it will go up tomorrow. Nope, as far as I'm concerned it's finished! The colors are better in person of course, that's how it always goes. I always feel like I can "see" it better when it's next to the others, so I'll be glad to see it posted :)

Your title says it all. She did have that brute cold shoulder look to her. As always I love to see what you do every week.

I really like how you implement those abstract elements into your paintings. So creative and appealling!

Okay, Alice, I'm honored you chose me and for such nice reasons. I will strain my brain and try and think of 7 interesting things about me. Might take me awhile but I'll let you know when it's posted, thanks! I enjoyed reading yours, you really *are* interesting but then I suspected that! :)

Ms Camille, Once you select the post you want to edit... you can delete the photo by selecting (clicking on it) while in Compose mode and by using your Delete key on your keyboard. The backspace key in this instance does not work and confuses people when they try to remove the image.

You don't want to delete the post, that would cause you to lose everything including the comments. You just want to edit it.

I'll be back to see if you get what I'm saying... : )

BTW. Your Boot painting is watching us!
