Sun on the Pit

8 x 8 oil on canvas
Change of plans since it warmed up this morning. I walked outside and saw the sun hitting the wood under the barbeque pit with all the beautiful highlights and shadows and knew I had to try and capture the scene. Our wonderful brother in law had this pit custom made for us out of oil field pipe and surprised us with it. It weighs about three tons. Looking at it puts me in the mood to get some coals going in there for some barbeque...

Such a gorgeous rustic feel to this piece, Camille! I keep thinking these are graphite drawings and then I see they are oils and I am blown away by them all over again. You do fabulous work.

Isn't it amazing that we, as Artists, look at everything! Well, looking at this barbecue was the perfect subject for you Camille! It's a pretty unique barbecue which makes it more interesting to paint. Beautiful job on this!!

Nice one Camille. I'll bet you and your family have had some great times around that BBQ. Looks a little like a steam engine without the wheels.

Très original comme sujet et intéressant Camille. J'aime ces dernières toiles sans beaucoup de couleur, ça change complètement de ton style, je pense que c'est bien de changer!
